RogerEbert.com — Superintelligence

Melissa McCarthy is woefully miscast as the most average person on the planet — who becomes the test subject for an A.I. — in the dreadfully flat “Superintelligence.” The thing that makes McCarthy a fascinating comic figure is her fearlessness; being milquetoast doesn’t play to her strengths. Trouble is, her husband, Ben Falcone, is the director here, as he’s been in some of her worst films, including “Tammy” and “The Boss.” Avoid this if at all possible. My half-star review, at RogerEbert.com.
