Breakfast All Day Podcast 3/1/19

Image result for climax movie

It’s an all-night dance party all morning long here at Breakfast All Day. This is an extremely random week post-Oscars as Matt, Alonso and I review Gaspar Noe’s thrilling and transfixing “Climax,” the deliriously bonkers stalker thriller “Greta,” starring Isabelle Huppert and Chloe Grace Moretz, and the gripping documentary “Apollo 11,” which features never-before-seen footage of the moon landing. As the parents of boys, Matt and I made ourselves endure the disturbing Irish horror film “The Hole in the Ground.” Also, because we’re Tyler Perry completists around here, Alonso and I paid actual money to see and discuss “A Madea Family Funeral.” And we discuss the powerful finale of “True Detective” season three, which answers all the questions we (and you) have been asking all along. Have another sip of sangria and join in the celebration.

  1. Hey guys!! Re: True Detective: I read an interview with Nic Pizzolato where he cleared up something you guys were questioning. Hayes did not suddenly remember what was happening, and why he was at that address. It was just a passing look that Mahershala Ali gave. He never actually remembers. Here is a link to the Esquire article where Pizzolato answers most of the internet’s speculation! It’s good.

  2. this podcast or last weeks wasn’t uploaded on your youtube channel are yougonna upload to your youtube channel anymore?

      • Definitely great music for the intros! Suggestion: How about a little B.A.D.(Big Audio Dynamite) on B.A.D. (Breakfast All Day)? The intro bit to “Rock Non Stop (All Night Long)” would be a killer transition to the show. And most importantly, ensure even more of that great 80s vibe you’ve got going on the show!

  3. Thanks for keeping the reviews coming—both in podcast and You Tube versions. We’re sitting here on Monday evening, enjoying our martinis, jotting down titles, looking forward to seeing them, & loving the discussion. You guys are still the best review show out there!

  4. Apollo 11 gave me the opposite reaction. It made me appreciate First Man less, not more. If you want to see a definitive and gripping account of Apollo 11, see this documentary.

I agree though, it HAS to be seen in IMAX.

  5. Greta has to be the funniest movie I’ve seen all year. I couldn’t take it seriously because it follows every 90’s stalker movie trope to the letter. i knew.exactly.where it was going and who would survive or not. Isabelle Huppert was great, but i think Chabrol or Haneke would have done a better job with this trash.
