Oscars 2022 Reaction
The next day, Alonso and I are still sorting through what happened at the Oscars. What did you make of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock? Did your favorite movies win? And who was the best dressed? Thanks to Christy and Alonso on your commentary on the Chris Rock slap. I think when I saw it I was in shock and it wasn’t until the next day when I saw the video that wasn’t shown of Will Smith complaining to Chris Rock to not mention his wife’s name. While the joke wasn’t funny and in poor taste, this is no excuse for this behavior and would not be advised to use this in front of a judge anywhere. It has been revealed that Will Smith has resigned from the Academy and will be denied rights and privileges that come being a member. He won’t lose his Oscar and I don’t think he should lose if Harvey Weinstein gets to keep his awards which over over 80 in number. He shouldn’t get it back until he has made a sincere and honest effort to seek help from a mental health professional.
