“Coastal Elites” is the very definition of preaching to the choir. A series of five monologues originally intended for the New York stage, this HBO production gently satirizes a very specific type of liberal American trying to navigate the daily outrage of living through the Trump administration. There’s a lot of technique on display from the impressive cast and individual moments are amusing but the exercise as a whole feels ham-fisted and obvious. My 1 1/2-star review, at RogerEbert.com.
