“The Other Side of Heaven 2: Fire of Faith” is the sequel to 2001’s “The Other Side of Heaven.” It also wasn’t screened for critics before it opened. Both films are based on the memoirs of Mormon Elder John H. Groberg and his missionary work in Tonga. The latest film has stronger production values than its predecessor and a solid central performance from the likable Christopher Gorham, but it’s episodic in structure, packed with clunky dialogue that spells everything out and smothered with an overpowering score. My 1 1/2-star review, at RogerEbert.com.
