Howard Bryant is a longtime sports writer, author and ESPN personality, but he’s voraciously knowledgeable (and opinionated) about a wide variety of topics. He’s also a lovely, quick-witted guy and a joy to talk with, and I’m always happy to see him when he visits Los Angeles from his home in Western Massachusetts. Howard and I talk about growing up in Dorchester (and a segregated Boston in the 1970s), how he got his start in newspapers, his process when he approaches a new book and the movies he loves. We are all over the place on this one but it’s a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy.
Howard is so descriptive and dead-on in why he listened to What the Flick?!, it’s a delight to hear
You should interview James Berardinelli. I think he be interesting to interview.
